According to this article on bengals.com com and this article on scout.com, 2nd round steal Rey Maualuga and 3rd round freak of nature Michael Johnson both signed today. Last year the Bengals made a leap from having the 27th ranked defense to the 12th. Since last season, the Bengals added pro-bowl safety Roy Williams and defensive tackle Tank Johnson. Having these two plus Michael Johnson and Rey Maualuga at the beginning of mini camp, which starts this Friday the 31st at Georgetown College, will make the defense even better. The Bengals could jump into the top 10 defenses in the NFL and be ranked along side division rivals Pittsburgh and Baltimore who are known for their defenses.
Tight end Chase Coffman and center Jonathan Luigs also signed recently. This leaves only 1st round pick right tackle Andre Smith unsigned.

Well it seems every time Ben Roethlisberger wins the super bowl he ends up participating in some self destructive behavior. Last time it was taking on downtown Pittsburgh traffic on his motorcycle with no helmet.
This time, Ben decides to take on what one would refer to as an unsavory woman.
Apparently Big Ben is being sued by an employee of Harrah's casino on charges of sexual assault. Florio has the accusers account of the assault here. This basically proves what WhoDeyFans has claimed all along. Big Ben is so ugly even another ring from the Super Bowl can't get him some action.

This isn't cinci news, but it's good news. It's got all the things we like. Boobies, 100,000 single dollar bills, and Pac Man making it rain. Video of the club were it rained money from Pac Man's hands onto strippers was just released and it's awesome.

I've heard countless people say, "I wish Chad would just shut up and play". I say keep talking Chad. All I know is that when he is guaranteeing that the Bengals are going to the playoffs and that he is going to use Twitter during the game, he's not doing what he did last year. Last year at this time he was begging to be traded and not participating in OTA's or any other voluntary team activity. Last year Chad also had the worse year of his career other than his rookie year.
The last time that Chad seemed to have a good attitude and participated in OTA's was 2005 when the Bengals went to the playoffs. Is this a sign of things to come? I sure as hell hope so but either way, I will back him up as long as he isn't complaining about the coaches or asking to be traded. So, as long as the things coming out of your mouth are positive, then keep talking Chad.

Looks like we'll have some good old fashioned competition at fullback this year. It's a three way battle between...
Fui Vakapuna

Jeremi Johnson

Ming Dynasty Chinese Buffet

Unlike most position battles this one is setup to work out in a paper-rock-scissor fashion. Ming Dynasty holds sway over Jeremi Johnson and it alone can throw off Johnson. If that were too happen Vakapuna may have a chance. If Johnson can overpower the egg rolls and fried rice things will definitly fall into his favor. Vakapuna stands up against the pure strength of sweet and sour fairly well, but after a few college injuries may be overshadowed by Johnson.

This is the part of the offseason that stinks the most for me. Lets get it on already, Camp is right around the corner and with that this year the Bengals will be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks.
News around the web is that Andre Smith will begin contract talks with the Bengals. Why did it take this long to start you ask? Simple, the Bengals make a habit of waiting until all surrounding picks are signed so that they can offer a low ball which is just slightly over the guy behind. They do not take into account that historically they are terrible about getting top draft picks into camp. Maybe they should.
Apparently Chad Ochocinco is going to twitter during the games this season. (Yawn) Another publicity stunt and people are taking the bait.
Thanks to CincyJungle for the link to the debate to the next "America's team". You see, the Cowboys have always been referred to as America's team. Now, other teams fans and some sports writers trying to stir the pot have decided to debate why their team should be America's team. Normally I could care less about these articles but I knew that Steeler nation (aka fair weather Internet smack talkers) would show up in force. Below is a direct quote from a Steeler fan which clearly shows why I can stand any of them. Enjoy:
"You are all dumb as a bag of bricks with the exception of my PITTSBURGH STEELERS FANS and yes AMERICAS TEAM HAS BEEEN HAD BEEN AND WILL ALLLLLWAYS BE!!!!!!!!! count them explanation point!!! above thats probly how many Lombardis we r ahead of all you wierdos and your teams just like my man yinzer STOP HATIN you already cant STOP SNITCHIN so STOP HATIN c/ the STEELERS are the "ish" DO U SMELL THAT c/ thats the smell of VICTORIOUS n SUCCESS over years i mean c'mon maan. stop being hypocrits...even the world not just sportsNation says STEELERS are AMERICAS TEAM but either way "IT DOESNT MATTER" us in Pittsburgh are die hard steeler fans and every year we swarm all your cities n stadiums with nothing BUT BLACK n GOLD.....shh dont say nothing dont waste ur life trying to type back c/ you have no comeback on the other hand STEELERS we comeback....(PERIOD) We got the Title well actually TITLES knock that and mayb u can waste more of my time HATERS....muah Kiss PITTS of death.
oh i almost 4got Ahhaaa HERE WE GO STEELERS! HERE WE GO!!!!!!! MOST RINGS AND MOST APPERANCES AHHHAA (POINT BLANK PERIOD). WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS No TIME 4 LOSOING C/ WE R THE STEELEERS ahhaaaa"
It does not surprise me that this guy is still alive at whatever age he is (they encourage these types in Pittsburgh). It surprises me that he has been through enough training to know how to actually type on a computer.

Lets talk about fashion. Actually, lets not. Lets leave that kind of talk to losers like Paul Lukas. You see Paul is a guy that spends his time critiquing professional sports teams uniforms. People have given this guy credit based on his opinions he has posted online. Let me tell you what I think of Paul Lukas. This is a DBag that has spends his time making fun of the clothes that men wear. Rather than worry about the important things in a professional sport like the action or score, he wonders if the free safety is wearing socks that match his helmet. This ranks with the hoards of girls that root for players based on "who's hot".
So this guy must be some sort of fashion guru that you could expect to grace the cover of magazines like GQ. Judge for yourself.

Besides the fact that he looks like a bobble head, I can't imagine this guy has the fashion sense to critique anyone or anything. After seeing his picture I am going to put as much faith in his opinions as I do the crappy weatherman, celebrities on politics and any inbred Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
The Bengals uniforms are just fine. You forgot to rank the ugly black and gold of the Steeler's and the shit brown of the Mistake on the lake. Keep up the work Paul and join the new century and shave that goatee.

If you listened to me on Gridiron Gurus last week, then you know that I predicted the Bengals to return to the playoffs in our AFC Preview. Tonight is our NFC Preview. You'll have to tune in to see what teams we'll pick to do well in the NFC. Brandon Kisker won't make it in tonight so I've invited our own Darren Hollywood to sit in his place in order to make sure Terique Scott and I don't kill each other. If you missed last weeks show, the teams I picked from the AFC to go to the playoffs are:
Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers (it physically hurt to say this on air)
New England Patriots
Indianapolis Colts
San Diego Chargers
Tennessee Titans
Tune in tonight from 6 to 8 on bearcastradio.com to hear me, Terique Scott, and our special guest Darren Hollywood to hear our NFC preview on Gridiron Gurus.
